Eastern State Penitentiary is an old prison in Philadelphia. While it is no longer an active prison, it has been preserved "in a state of decay". Famous criminals such as Al Capone were held in Eastern State. The prison is laid out in a radial design and was built at a time when the focus was on rehabilitation of criminals.
The first two images ("barber chair" and "double doors" were given a Merit Award and selected for publication in the 2007 B&W Magazine Portfolio Contest.
